“Chekkie was my counsellor for over two years and in that time I found her to be extremely professional and a fantastic counsellor.

She provided an emotionally safe and warm environment for me to talk about problems I was having to deal with in my life  . Once into these sessions I never felt judged or uncomfortable to talk about anything that I was exploring within myself and I was always amazed how attentive Chekkie was in that she would recall things I had talked about weeks or even months before , even if it had been just a passing comment I had made and I appreciated that  she was really listening and absorbing to what I had to say.

She was very flexible with the hours I could and could not do due to my job and it always felt like she had genuine compassion with a lot of the things I was talking about and dealing with.

I would highly recommend Chekkie as a counsellor . She is a highly intelligent person with a genuine caring soul who I can tell loves her job and the difference she makes to peoples lives.

Without her help and the emotional skill set she left me with I think I would be in a very different place in my life.”

Chekkie is a very caring, likeable, intelligent and perceptive therapist. She has a way of taking my ramble of words and chaotic feelings and helping me to see what is really going on underneath it all and pinpointing what needs my attention. I’m not sure how she did it exactly, but the problems that led me to go to therapy no longer seemed to affect me after our sessions, they were still there, there is no way that they could go away, but they just became really diluted. I had hope for the future and understood how I had got into the relationships and situation that I was in. This meant that I didn’t have to fear getting into the same relationships as I could do something differently going forward.

She was honest and challenging and that was very hard at times, but what I needed. I didn’t just want someone to agree with me, just listen or feel sorry for me. It may sound unusual, but Chekkie has a good sense of humour and that really helped me to talk about things that I had never spoken about before and I felt as if she could really take some of the difficult things I’d been holding, it wouldn’t shock or overwhelm her. She made me feel at ease and I got a sense that she was a very caring real human being as opposed to previous therapists that I have seen who didn’t bother to listen and were taking things straight out of a textbook.

From my first email to Chekkie, I knew that she was different and really got the importance of me contacting her, what it had taken for me to do that.

I could not have predicted that my life would look the way it does now and that is thanks to Chekkie’s unwavering belief in me and dedication to me over the years.

“I was extremely nervous when I first reached out to Chekkie for help. I found the idea of opening up and talking about my problems very daunting. From the first email she seemed very professional and polite, and within a few minutes of our first session she had already started to lower my anxiety with her calm and warm demeanor. Since then, Chekkie has been helping me understand myself and my emotions in our weekly sessions for the last 5 years on an on-and-off basis.

Over the years I’ve found Chekkie to be a fantastic listener and is very patient, providing great advice and often guides me to conclusions or points of view I would have never thought of. She’s very intelligent and helps explains complex ideas in simple ways to ensure I understand her view on things and how to understand myself. I’m always amazed by her ability to sprinkle in elements of humour whilst remaining serious and stern when she needs to.

I still leave every session with a sense of making a useful step forward and satisfaction. I genuinely don’t know what I’d be doing without Chekkie and I’m very thankful for her time and help over the years.”

“The essence of what I wanted to write is that supervision with you is awesome, in the most objective sense. Warm environment to reflect on client work and be challenged in ways that enhanced my practice greatly, so here is a little blurb: I look forward to my supervision with Chekkie, this has not waned in the last three years. I feel comfortable bringing any issues, reflections, dilemmas to our sessions. I experience Chekkie as empathic, congruent, non-judgmental and gently challenging. Our supervision sessions, which consistently feel collaborative, greatly enhanced my personal capabilities and professional practice. I heartily recommend Chekkie to anyone looking for robust enjoyable supervision.”
